Connected via Facebook

I finally did it. I joined Facebook. For the past year I have been harassed by three very lovely friends that insisted that I must join Facebook.

Amy, Justin & Sarah say...
Facebook is more grown up than Myspace.
Facebook is less trashy.
Facebook is "in" and "Myspace" is out.

Here it is 2:00 a.m. and for the past three hours I just scratched the surface. It will take me forever to learn how to be a Facebook pro.

David Jay and Becker both have recently posted how Facebook and Twitter will replace blogs. We shall see.

If you are not a Facebook member...join.

Heelarious

I am a Internet-aholic. {that is my contribution to the dictionary}. I can search the Internet for hours. However, I am not just searching to waste time, I am being productive. Spending countless hours looking for odd, unique/different things.

About a month ago I was searching ideas for children's clothing for suggestions on how to dress for the perfect shoot. I came across this adorable product called Heelarious. They are heels for infants. How genius. How perfect!

I have been waiting for someone that I could purchase these for. Shelia is having a baby girl and loves zebra print.

Are they not the cutest thing ever?

Summer Week 7

Monday, July 20, 2009 ~ 7 year anniversary. Cleaned the house. Organized. Josh was not feeling great so we enjoyed a nice quiet evening at home.

Tuesday, July 21, 2009 ~ Dad and I worked on the house.

Wednesday, July 22, 2009 ~ Went to school to discuss social studies opening. Worked on trip.

Thursday, July 23, 2009 ~ Early morning interviews. Rained. Went to Humble to shop.

Friday, July 24, 2009 ~ Early morning doctors appointment in Houston. I told the doctor that the visit would most likely be a waste of his time, because I my foot was feeling much better. Dr. Marymont said I was good to go! Josh and I went to dinner and then met up with our friend John for drinks. Getting sad that John is leaving us to go to Iowa. When we pulled in the driveway I saw a white cat checking out something in the street. It was my Little Bitty. I loved that cat! {Josh is such a great husband, he went and buried her at midnight} I sure will miss her.

Saturday, July 25, 2009 ~ Had breakfast with Chelsea. She is leaving tomorrow to go back to school in KY. I am so proud of her. Weekly Wal-mart trip. Josh and I went to see the Ugly Truth at the Movie Tavern in Humble. Good movie.

Sunday, July 26, 2009 ~ Slept in. Cleaned the house. Worked at the school.

ONLY THREE WEEKS OF SUMMER LEFT. I AM SO SAD!

July 20, 2009

Happy Anniversary

Josh, I love you. Happy seven years! (Where is my gift of wool or copper?)

*Thank you for holding my hand through all of life's challenging trials and tribulations.
*Thank you for being my cheerleader when life gets me down.
*Thank you for understanding my crazy ways {like when I bring home ANOTHER stray animal}

I look forward to spending many more wonderful years by your side. I love you now and always.

Summer Week 6

Monday, July 13, 2009 ~ Ventured out of the house today. (put on clothes before noon). Went to the high school to work on New York trip. Edited.

Tuesday, July 14, 2009 ~ My mom and I had a day at the spa. It was wonderful! I had The Goddess Treatment & The Chocolate Salt Glow.

Wednesday, July 15, 2009 ~ Edited all day! I am finally caught up. Mom & Dad stopped by to visit. I have recruited my dad to help get the house ready for the market.

Thursday, July 16, 2009 ~ I woke up with the worst sinus headache. Pap-paw stopped in to visit. Went to the school to pick up/deposit trip money for the kids and while on this expedition, I hurt my foot. I walked into the high school and slipped on a puddle of water. Nobody saw my graceful slide, so I just sucked it up and went on. I was so proud that I never fell. I just twisted my foot. Yea for me. My foot is killing me!

Friday, July 17, 2009 ~ Cannot walk. I spent all morning on the phone trying to get in to see a specialist. No go. I went to Dr. Daily, a local doctor. I must say I was impressed with Dr. Daily's caring, warm attitude. She said the report showed no break. I convinced her to just wrap it with an ace bandage. To make a long story short I received a call later that evening asking me to come back to the office. Another doctor read the report and I do have a broken bone. yea.

Saturday, July 18, 2009 ~ Josh and I went on movie date to see Harry Potter. Had lunch at Mas Amigos with Jake, Beck & Josh Creel. Josh went to visit his parents and I stayed at home and surfed the Internet.

Sunday, July 19, 2009 ~ Slept in. The regular Sunday stuff. Josh mowed. I cleaned. I had to write a World Geography & World History Honors Test. fun. fun.

Broken!

Seconds after posting my last entry the phone rang and the sweet little nurse was on the other line. "Mrs. Key the radiology report shows a break and Dr. Daily needs you to come back to the office."

I have an impacted fracture of the fifth metatarsal bone and soft tissue swelling to the head of the first metatarsal bone.

The boot they have me wearing is atrocious! I just do not think I can wear this for six weeks. Why?!?

The first thing I did when I got home was google this break. Google made my mood go from bad to worse! Lets pray that I do not have a Jones fracture to the fifth metatarsal.

However, I am trying to find positive out of this situation. For years I have wanted to visit with a podiatrist about a issue I have (with my left foot). An issue that is caused from wearing heels!

Not Broken!

Yesterday, a quick stop by the school yielded a painful experience.

As soon as I walked in the front door I rolled my foot while sliding across a puddle of water. At the time I was only concerned with the fact that 1. I did not fall and 2. That nobody witnessed my grace.

I sucked it up and off I went. Pain quickly followed. A quick x-ray today did not show a break. Yea. "That must mean I will be good to go in a week, right?" The doctor said in a quiet voice that it would unfortunately take about six weeks to heal.

What?!?

How to Build a Lemonade Stand

I searched the Internet endlessly looking for the perfect lemonade stand. I could not find anything!

Finally! The prefect picture appeared on the Taco Bell commercial. I quickly paused live tv grabbed my phone and took a picture of the tv screen. I had my inspiration!

Of course the picture did not come with dimensions or what type of wood to use, so I was off to Lowe's.

The lemonade stand was built using 2X2's and fence post. {I will post the correct dimensions at a later time.}

A special thank you to my husband and dad for buidling lemonade stand.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Key

My Henry seems to get all the love and attention that I thought it was time to put Miss Sarah Michelle Gellar Key in the spotlight.

Photobucket

I never started out a fan of cats. I am allergic to cats. However, I am now well on my way to being the "crazy cat lady."

Sarah Michelle Gellar found us. She was a stray that I felt sorry for...so I talked Josh into letting her into our hearts.

Sarah used to be tiny. Skinny Minnie. After getting her fixed, she quickly tipped the scales.

Summer Week 5

Summer is passing too fast! I love late nights. Working out at 9 or 10 p.m. Staying up into the wee hours in the morning...editing, web surfing, loving on my Henry, watching tv, and planning my next steps in photography is relaxing to me.

I love summer! Is it really already week five?

Monday, July 5, 2009 ~ Cleaned house. Wal-mart shopping. Went to school to work on travel deposits and invoices. Worked out.

Tuesday, July 7, 2009 ~ Finished the lemonade stand. Photo shoot rained out. Worked out.

Wednesday, July 8, 2009 ~ I had an emotional morning involving a kitten. Happy to say the kitten is doing well...so far. Went fabric shopping for backdrops. Had to swing by Hobby Lobby to find the perfect lemon basket. And then off to the dreaded doctors appointment. I was on my way to take pictures for a "preview" of the new Limited Edition sessions I will be offering, and it started raining! Lucky me that Mandi & Robin are patient. They were happy to sit and wait for the rain to go away! Fun session with Palmer & Kylee. Enjoyed a nice meal with friends.

Thursday, July 9, 2009 ~ Went to the school to work on the New York trip. Prepared for afternoon shoot.

Friday, July 10, 2009 ~ Cleaned house. Edited pictures. John joined us at Chili's for dinner and drinks.

Saturday, July 11, 2009 ~ Slept in. Josh and I relaxed around the house. Josh and I spent the evening in Beaumont. (Sams, Hobby Lobby, and a fabric store. AND of course went to eat Mexican food)

Sunday, July 12, 2009 ~ Our friends Mike & Lisa invited us to the Astros game. We had a great time. Spent the evening visiting with my parents and then Josh's family. I also worked on the New York trip. Finding the perfect hotel has been tiresome.

Next week I want to accomplish: updating all blog entries, finish editing and build albums.

Tea Party Patriots

Happy 4th of July

Today I celebrate July 4th in appreciation for the men who fought to protect our freedom.

While you are enjoying all the joys of 4th of July, do not fail to remember these remarkable men who drafted the Declaration of Independence, protected our principles and fought for our freedom.

Interesting fact...
July 2, 1776, was actually the day that Independence was declared from Great Britain, as part of a resolution passed by Congress on that day. On that day, John Adams declared that July 2nd will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America.

On July 4th, Congress approved the Declaration of Independence.

The first celebration of "July 4th" was on July 8th when the Declaration was publicly read in Philadelphia. Citizens celebrated with gun fire, bon-fires and fireworks. This custom was borrowed from England.

Thursday, July 2, 2009 ~ My body is so sore. I have lost one pound! Decided Tuesday, that I am going to be serious. I have read that you have to work out 21 days straight to become addicted. Today will be the third day straight. Ibarra Photo Shoot.

Friday, July 3, 2009 ~ Josh and I went to Humble to eat lunch and shop. Cleaned the house. Yuck!

Saturday, July 4, 2009 ~ Went to my parents for lunch. Josh, my dad and myself spent quality time together building my lemonade stand prop. I thought I would be apart of the TEA party in Liberty. That did not last long. It was too hot! We then went to Josh's parents for dinner.

Taxed Enough Already? Join the Party.

From KSHN: Tea Party...Citizens across America including here in Liberty County will gather over the July Fourth weekend for what are called TEA Parties. An acronym for “Taxed Enough Already”, these events are to protest deficit spending by the federal government. A TEA party is planned for Saturday from 4-8 pm at the Vara Faye Martin Daniel Pavilion behind Liberty City Hall. There will be live entertainment, and US Congressmen Ted Poe as well as State Representative John Otto are both scheduled to speak. Tea and water will be provided, but folks are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and umbrellas to minimize exposure to the sun.

Shelia

I had a great time photographing Shelia's maternity session. Shelia always looks beautiful in all her pictures.

Thank you Amber for all your help.
