New York City. Day 1

The Traveling Hornets.
38 Students. 7 Chaperons.

I never would have imagined that a simple phone call would have opened the door to a student travel group. An outside company contacted me about taking a group of students to Washington, D.C. for the 2009 Inauguration. I mentioned the phone conversation to the principal and my co-worker/social studies partner and the excitement started to build.

March 2008. We decided to plan our own trip, from scratch. Long story short the 2009 Washington, D.C. trip was a success. We were home long enough for everyone to catch a breath before the students began asking where and when the next trip would be.

How exciting! We had generated interest into the world beyond Hardin, Texas! And on to planning the next trip...
