Today I celebrate July 4th in appreciation for the men who fought to protect our freedom.
While you are enjoying all the joys of 4th of July, do not fail to remember these remarkable men who drafted the Declaration of Independence, protected our principles and fought for our freedom.
Interesting fact...
July 2, 1776, was actually the day that Independence was declared from Great Britain, as part of a resolution passed by Congress on that day. On that day, John Adams declared that July 2nd will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America.
On July 4th, Congress approved the Declaration of Independence.
The first celebration of "July 4th" was on July 8th when the Declaration was publicly read in Philadelphia. Citizens celebrated with gun fire, bon-fires and fireworks. This custom was borrowed from England.
