I survived the 2009 Presidential Inauguration and the trip to Washington, D.C.
I have wonderful stories and not so wonderful stories to share.
Give me time to rest. I am operating on very little sleep.

2009 Presidential Inauguration
We leave in three days!
I am going through all the necessary tasks to prepare for my travels. I started laying my stuff out last week so I could get some sleep Thursday night.
I am not going to lie...I am nervous. I am nervous that I am one of the five adults responsible for 45 students. I am nervous about the large crowds they are expecting. I am nervous about being one of the 240,000 ticket holders. I am worried that my clothes will not be warm enough. And of course I have a fear of the "what if...." situations.
I am however, trying to savor this moment in time. I stay up late reading Internet news articles. I watch the news and clip articles from the newspapers. How lucky are we? We will be apart of this historic moment.
I ran into one of my old students today and he asked, "Do the kids realize how lucky they are?" "Do they realize what they are about to witness?" I wonder.
We have all kind of fun events ready. We are going ice skating one night (outside), bowling, and to a movie. We will travel to Medieval Times in Baltimore. Hard Rock Cafe in DC. Jamestown/Williamsburg. Capitol tour. Bureau of Engraving and Printing. etc.
I am super excited.
Be sure to follow the blog The Traveling Hornets for pictures and updates.

A'Dair & Co.
Pam Litton, the owner of A'Dair & Co. is one of the most giving people I have ever met. Pam, I am forever greatful for everything you have done for me.
Her flower and gift shop is amazing! She is so talented.
She asked me if I would photograph some Christmas decorations she and her team put together for a company Christmas party. It was beautiful...a Winter Wonderland.

Thomas Henry
I am not a crazy cat lady...I promise. I never really was drawn to cats. Maybe because I am a lot like a cat. I am very independent. I like affection and love, however sometimes I want my space and alone time.
When we moved into our house, cats flocked to us.
On one of my birthdays there was a knock at the door. It was a beautiful black cat peeking in through the glass. We decided to feed her and then one thing led to another and we had a batch of kittens. Josh talked ME into keeping one (yes he had to talk me into keeping a kitten). I remember the day we named him. My friend Tracy was over and we were on a cat naming website. Tracy recommended the name...and so it was...Thomas Henry Key.
We love this cat! Love this cat!
Henry had to be in the middle of wrapping presents. He decided that he needed a box--and of course I let him :)
Williams 60th Wedding Anniversary
We traveled to California during the Christmas holidays to celebrate Josh's grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversary.
The party was very nice. It was great to finally meet the entire Williams family. I hope to see everyone at Erins wedding in August.
Congratulations Jack & Celeste.

Happy New Year
Happy 2009 to you! I wish all of you a year filled with love and happiness.
Josh and I traveled home on New Years Eve. Did we pick the two worst days to travel or what?
I am sorry I have been missing on the blog--but we have had a rough start to 2009. The rough start has really made me examine my life. There are some serious changes I would like to make during this new year.
Again, Happy New Year!
